Extreme GRacing…
Once, cars were used, races took place on oval tracks, with little or no deviation.
The only means of passing rivals was to go faster than they were.
No weapons.
No explosions.
No boosters.
Races generally took place under 200 MPH.
As speed increased, so did the need for protection.
The military granted use of defensive energy nets in 2056.
They were large, heavy devices, and slowed down the vehicles.
New engines were designed to compensate.
New fuels were introduced.
Weapons were added to the vehicles.
Racers could now slow down their rivals with bullets, rockets, mines.
Racers often died when their shields were penet

Oh man, you worked on Extreme G? That's awesome. Was kinda sad when Acclaim went bankrupt.
